Krallice
Diotima CD
Profound Lore Records

It didn't take long for Brooklyn, NY's KRALLICE to get notoriety. Initially formed because of a desired collaboration between notorious avant-garde shredder Mick Barr and technical guitar wizard Colin Marston, for both musicians to explore a more black metal terrain with their music, KRALLICE was originally supposed to be a one-off kind of sporadic project for both musicians to create an album, with vocals (which both musicians weren't even used to), with an actual band, and with the uncertainty that there would be any more albums following the self-titled debut. That thought would quell quickly enough as KRALLICE immediately became a functioning band, playing shows along with their debut garnering critical acclaim all across the board through many prominent media outlets and immediately, KRALLICE would become a one-of-akind act within extreme metal. A band unlike anything the scene has befallen upon. And it wouldn't take long for the inspiration to come full-on, as the creative surge coming from KRALLICE would accelerate as the band continued to write and immediately would conjure material that would make their epic undertaking "Dimensional Bleedthrough" come out only a year after their debut. "Dimensional Bleedthrough" nonetheless would raise even more eyebrows and it came to a point where KRALLICE would eventually become the most recognized musical outlet out of all of Mick Barr and Colin Marston's other musical endeavors. Two musicians who have already had a pedigree in progressive/technical/avant-garde music/metal prior to KRALLICE even forming. And now with KRALLICE's third album "Diotima", the band have undoubtedly released their darkest, heaviest, most-dense, hypnotizing, challenging and accomplished album to date, a turning point album for KRALLICE if there ever was one. The album the band themselves are the most satisfied with and the album (in every aspect possible, from the playing, the performances, and ultimately the production) in which will even more solidify KRALLICE's importance as one of the most prominent and unique extreme metal bands and exports from America today.

Tracklist:
1. Intro
2. Inhume
3. The Clearing
4. Diotima
5. Litany Of Regrets
6. Telluric Rings
7. Dust And Light

Krallice
Self Titled CD

Krallice
Self Titled CD
Profound Lore Records

Known as one of the most respected virtuosic guitar wizards today, Mick Barr has displayed his polarizing guitar histrionics in such bizarre outfits as OCRILIM (Hydra Head Records) and ORTHRELM (which have released stuff on Mike Patton's Ipecac Recordings), pretty much bending and stretching the rules of modern-day guitar playing and giving a new meaning to progressive guitar playing. Nonetheless, Mick Barr (who has also collaborated with the likes of John Zorn) is quite the guitar playing enigma today. Colin Marston also has quite the pedigree backing his repertoire. With the likes of such bands as BEHOLD… THE ARCTOPUS (Black Market/Metal Blade), DYSRHYTHMIA (Relapse), BYLA etc. along with running his Thousand Caves Studios (in which he recently recorded the recent JARBOE solo album), Marston has proven to be one of the most prolific and recognized musicians in technical/extreme progressive metal (especially since he is known to brand that menacing 12-string Warr Guitar). KRALLICE nonetheless has been something that has been luring within the psyche of Barr (who also portrays the vocal offerings in Krallice) and Marston for quite some time. Pretty much also known as being disciples of true and real black metal, Krallice would inevitably become more of a reality for Barr and Marston; something for them to fulfill their black metal spirit and also come to a realization of where their other calling lies. Also Krallice at the same time provides a vehicle for Barr to actually play and record in an actual band setting of sorts (which is very rare these days) and Marston to play in a band that actually has vocals and lyrical content (which is also very rare these days). With their debut self-titled album, Krallice employ the musical landscape familiar with Barr and Marston's musical repertoire, but this time translate it in a visceral tremolo layered black metal vision that will easily triumph as one of the most recognized black metal albums to be released in 2008. Comprised of six epic time-stretching hymns, the Krallice debut is a vitriolic, hypnotizing elongated black metal pillage that brings such musical aesthetics reminiscent of the likes of early BUZRUM, ULVER'S "Nattens Madrigal" album, GORGOROTH ("Antichrist" in particular), and U.S. black metal legends WEAKLING, all mixed within Barr and Marston's black metal vision; one like no other within the realm of U.S. black metal.

Tracklist:
1. Wretched Wisdom
2. Cnestorial
3. Molec Codicies
4. Timehusk
5. Energy Chasms
6. Forgiveness In Rot
