Deep Sleep
Turn Me Off LP
Taken By Surprise Records

After a series of seven-inch releases, Baltimore, MD pop-influenced aggressive punk outfit Deep Sleep finally get around to issuing a complete album. As expected with this ten-track affair, the band revel in their posi-punk and modest hardcore influences ? to absolute extremes. Taking the pace of proto-D.R.I. and smashing it into hooks culled directly from ADOLESCENTS and DESCENDENTS, every one of these tunes is a rousing excursion into punk rock's most formative days. Not content to sit on those influences, the entire affair is doused in a serious Take It Back, Take It On, Take It Over!-era 7 SECONDS delivery, most notably vocally, then completed by flourishes of Greg Ginn's scratchy, wanky guitar passages. Subtly instinctual, overtly melodic and enduringly catchy, Turn Me Off is equal parts relief in seeing DEEP SLEEP continue their stellar output and excitement at having a new batch of catchy, upbeat ragers to jam into our subconscious.

Deep Wound
Self Titled EP

Armageddon Shop is proud to announce the release of a legitimate reissue of this classic USHC classic available again on vinyl. From Killedbytheheart: "Deep Wound was one of a handful of great punk bands from the outer regions of Massachusetts who have been largely overlooked by HC history in favor of the 'Boston Crew' bands who put out records on X-Claim! or Modern Method. The four-piece recorded their one and only single with Lou Giordano and Frank Michaels (Proletariat) and released it on the Radiobeat label in 1982. The record is snotty, teenage punk rock but played at lightning speed with totally manic singing. Drummer J Mascis and guitarist Lou Barlow went on to further greatness by forming the seminal indie rock band Dinosaur Jr., and bassist Scott Helland played in the Outpatients until their breakup in 1995."

Demonomancy
Throne Of Demonic Proselytism LP
Nuclear War Now Productions

Demonomancy is among the very few bands who secured a release through NWN! the traditional way; that is, by sending a copy of their excellent self-released demo, "Bearers of Black Arts." Demonomancy hail from the occult depths of Rome and exist to desecrate and dismantle Italy's holy infrastructure. Performing and recording as a three-piece, Demonomancy are maniacal in their intentions, yet calculated in their approach. They play primitive Black Metal in the vein of Beherit, Archgoat, and Demoncy, but with a sensitivity to production and precision that is uncharacteristic of most bands who tread these paths. No guitar solos or extraneous influences are utilized to distract the listener. Instead, the band relies solely upon its songwriting which highlights the band's seamless fusing of cacophonous riffs and unpredictable changes in tempo. The production on this EP suits the work perfectly. All of the instruments are distinguishable and mixed according to the need of the song as a whole. The final result is a diabolical festival of ritualistic violence and blasphemy.

Descendents
Everything Sucks LP
Epitaph Records

On an undisclosed date in 1996, deemed by some as Science's Finest Hour, Milo hung up his lab coat and the Descendents began work on a new LP. Produced by Bill and Stephen at the band's own studio in Ft. Collins, CO (aptly dubbed The Blasting Room), 'Everything Sucks' picks up EXACTLY where the Descendents left off. The tracks 'Everything Sucks,' 'This Place' and 'Coffee Mug' are classic Descendents, raging along at the speed of sound, while 'I'm The One', 'Sick-O-Me' and 'She Loves Me' are anthems of the 'girl-song' milieu. Now available again on vinyl.
